Guide
What is the WhatsApp Business API and how do you connect it?
A short guide to the WhatsApp Business API (officially the WhatsApp Business Platform / Cloud API): what it does, how it differs from the app, what it costs and how to connect your number in 10 minutes.
What is the WhatsApp Business API?
The WhatsApp Business API is Meta's official messaging platform for businesses. The version that runs on Meta's own servers is called the Cloud API. It isn't tied to a phone; messages arrive straight in a software inbox.
That lets several employees use the same number, answer late-night messages automatically and send approved templates to customers who opted in.
How it differs from the WhatsApp Business app
- The app runs on one phone; the API is used by the whole team at once.
- Bulk sending in the app is limited to broadcast lists; the API sends approved templates at scale.
- API automation runs 24/7 without a phone online.
- Each API message is charged according to Meta's rate card; the app is free.
How are message fees calculated?
Meta charges per message based on the recipient's country code and the message category: marketing, utility, authentication and service. In Türkiye a marketing message is about $0.011 and the other categories about $0.001 (October 2026).
With SosyalMedya.Website you pay these fees directly to Meta with your own card. We take no per-message commission — you only pay the panel subscription.
How does Embedded Signup work?
Embedded Signup is Meta's official window for businesses to connect their numbers to a software provider securely. When you click "Connect WhatsApp" in the panel, Meta's window opens.
- Log in with your Facebook account.
- Choose or create your business portfolio.
- Set up your WhatsApp Business account and display name.
- Enter your number and verify the code sent by SMS or voice call.
- When the window closes your number is ready in the panel and messages start flowing.
Requirements
- A Facebook account (to log in).
- A phone number that can receive an SMS or voice call.
- If the number is registered in the WhatsApp app, delete that account first.
- A payment method added in Meta for message fees.
Following Meta's rules
Send marketing messages only to people who gave you permission, and offer a way to opt out. If complaints rise, Meta can lower your number's daily sending limit. The panel requires an opt-in confirmation when you create a campaign.
Frequently asked questions
How is it different from the WhatsApp Business app?
The app runs on one phone for one person. The WhatsApp Business API (Cloud API) is Meta's official platform for businesses: your whole team uses the same number, auto-replies run 24/7 and you can send approved templates at scale — no phone has to stay online.
Will my number get banned?
The official API is the method Meta allows for businesses, so there is no rule-breaking risk like with QR-code tools. You still need to follow Meta's business messaging policies: send marketing messages only to people who opted in and keep complaints low. The panel reminds you of this.
Can I use my current number?
Yes. If the number is registered in the WhatsApp app today, you need to delete that account before connecting (you can back up your chats first). You can also use a new number. Our setup service does these steps with you.
How much are message fees?
Meta charges per message and you pay it straight to Meta with your own card. In Türkiye a marketing message costs about $0.011 and a utility or service message about $0.001 (October 2026). Chats started from Click-to-WhatsApp ads open a free 72-hour window.
Do I need a Facebook account?
The connection happens in Meta's window, so you log in with a Facebook account. If you don't have a business portfolio, you can create one in the same window. Your password never reaches us; we only receive the business access Meta grants.
What happens when the trial ends?
All Pro features are open for 14 days. When the trial ends you pick a plan and add your card; if you don't, sending stops and your data is kept for 30 days.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel with one click on the billing page and keep using the panel until the end of the period. No commitment.
Who issues the invoice?
Subscriptions are invoiced by Yapay Zeka LLC (USA) through Stripe.
